In contrast to personal training where the goal is to improve overall fitness and possibly personal appearance, the goal of athletic performance training is to enhance your performance in competition to make you more successful in your chosen sport. Our training program takes into account the sport and the position you play along with characteristics such as your age, gender, fitness level, and medical history. Using sound scientific principles and proven training techniques, VS2 Fitness has created customized and effective workout plans to increase our athletic client’s quickness, speed, strength, agility, and stamina. We target certain fitness components, such as muscular strength, flexibility and endurance in order to eliminate and/or reduce the potential for injury and to increase our client’s confidence and motivation.

Physical fitness for one sport is not exactly the same as for another. For example, training for basketball is very different from training for marathon running because what it takes to be great for each is very different. Intermittent bursts of speed for basketball vs. long-term sustained running tap different energy sources. The benefits of strength training to athletic performance are enormous and an integral conditioning component for power athletes.
